Custom website and branding for contemporary South African artist, Jane Barnes.
South Africa
Jane was looking for a unique space on the web where she could display her artworks and also provide information about her art classes, the galleries she's had her work displayed in, and to give potential buyers a beautiful place to view her work and get in touch for purchases or commission requests.
I built the website using Webflow, one of my favourite tools for its huge flexibility without needing to hire a developer or learn to code myself. The website leverages Webflow's excellent CMS infrastructure for Jane's blog, and to list all Jane's artworks and arrange them into Collections for the best user experience, mark them as available or sold, etc.
As part of my work with Jane, I also assisted her in getting a branded look and feel nailed down, choosing the elegant and timeless Gill Sans MT Pro typeface for most text on the site, and handwritten Storybook in between for a really unique and special look.
Her logo is a graphic-enhanced version of her signature - very appropriate and inherently unique.
Overall, the custom feel of a website like has been well worth it for Jane, driving both sales and a consistent stream of inquiries about her art classes through her own platform.
